Financing of studying abroad
UCL collaborates with various educational institutions through the Erasmus+ and Nordplus programmes, which offer grants for study periods abroad in an EU/EEC country, and in Greenland or the Faroe Islands. Our International Team can help you apply for scholarships through these programmes. Please note that you can only receive grants through one of the programmes below that offer financial support.
You can apply for this grant, if you are going on a study abroad or going abroad for your traineeship and are enrolled at UCL in Odense - either at campus Niels Bohrs Allé or Seebladsgade. Furthermore, you must be able to attend the award ceremony in August.
‘Reisekammeraten’ is a travel grant of DKK 25,000, awarded during the Hans Christian Andersen Festivals. The grant is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s artistic work and extensive travels, which took him across Europe and enriched his poetry and storytelling. The recipient is selected among students from SDU Odense or UCL Odense who have planned a study or internship abroad. Applicants must convincingly demonstrate how their journey and stay will combine academic pursuits with a sense of poetry and adventure in encountering a new culture.
The grant is only awarded for planned future study periods. The award ceremony takes place during the opening of the Spoken Word Festival at the Hans Christian Andersen Festivals on Friday August 15th, 2025. Attendance at the ceremony is a strict requirement for receiving the grant.
The committee consists of:
- Birgitte Bøgh-Sørensen, Director, Orifarm (chairperson)
- Johs. Nørregaard Frandsen, Emeritus Professor, SDU
- Jens Mejer Pedersen, Chancellor, UCL Business Academy and University College
- Simon Møberg Torp, Dean, The Faculty of Humanities, SDU
- Frederik Busk Schultz, last year's Reisekammeraten recipient
The application must contain:
- A personal application
- A short CV
- A recommendation from a lecturer or supervisor
The application must be submitted as a single file.
Applications from UCL students should be sent to Birgitte Dahl Sørensen bids@ucl.dk.
The deadline for applications is June 10th 2025 at 12.00 PM.
Applicants will be notified in week 26.
