Seebladsgade is the second largest campus. Here, you will find Boxen, a co-working space for local start-ups, and also FabLab, which is a platform and a room for creativity, learning and innovation. At FabLab, all students have the possibility to turn their ideas into new products and prototypes.
Seebladsgade has different labs associated with the various programmes, which are available for you as a student. Here you can get an overview of the largest and most current labs.
These two rooms are almost identical. However, one noticeable difference is that one has a double door, while the other does not. This is important as these rooms are for editing sound, and the difference means that the noise from the hallway is significantly less in the room with the double door.
The rooms are small so only a few students can sit there at a time. There are offices with screens and computer equipment with advanced audio and video editing software.
These rooms are primarely used by MIT students and are suitable for small groups to work with their projects; the kind of projects that are often worked on in blackbox/MediaLab.
Contact person is Coordinator Michael Hviid Larsen, who can be contacted via mhvl@ucl.dk.
FabLab is a creative and technological training laboratory and prototype workshop, where you have the opportunity to experiment, create, learn, share knowledge and get help translating your ideas into prototypes and products.
In FabLab you have access to a number of advanced digital production technologies, which skilled employees are ready to help you use and translate your ideas into something visual.
FabLab is an education laboratory for the entire UCL, and all students affiliated with UCL can use FabLab. Contact person is FabLab Manager Michael Angelo Johansen, who can be contacted by mail micj@ucl.dk.
EnergyLab is a large laboratory on two floors. In the lower section you will find a number of robotic and industrial technology installations as well as computers used to program your own boxes, after which you can test your solution to the equipment. The first floor consists of a small area designed for general teaching activity.
There are lockers available, where you can store your projects overnight.
This room is primarily used by students in the installation technical programmes. However, access requires that you pass a safety course as there are machines with electricity chambers at a critical level, that can pose a safety risk.
Contact person is Lab manager Henrik Kowal, who can be contacted via heko@ucl.dk.
MediaLab is a lab constisting of a series of rooms, which isn´t really divided (also known as BlackBox). It consists of a lending area where equipment and access can be booked, a small studio (black box) for photo and small greenscreen recordings, as well as a larger greenscreen area where greenscreen video can be recorded.
This laboratory is primarily used by students associated with the technological programmes.
Loan of equipment takes place during the lunch break Monday to Friday from 11.40 am to 12.10 pm, where there is a student assistant. Otherwise, study administrator Mai Holm von Seelen can be contacted by email mase@ucl.dk.
NeuroLab is arranged in 2 parts. A part where traditional teaching can be held and there is room for meetings and conducting focus group. The second part, where there is focus on testing with cover tables for testing at computers.
The room allows flexible lending to you as a student. You have access to do tests in the room, as well as drop off equipment when it suits you (of course by appointment). There is also room for teaching and consumer behaviour.
Equipment can be lent to you in relation to main tasks, BA tasks and internships. All equipment is managed by Lab manager Maria Tipsmark, who can be contacted by email: mati@ucl.dk.
Process/KithcenLab can be both with and without equipment. It seems like a small industrial kitchen but it is the equipment, which makes it valuable. It contains equipment such as deep fryers, mixers, meat mincers as well as fixtures such as freezers, stove, large ovens, etc. Much of this equipment and fixtures are in the basement storage or just outside the room.
Process/KitchenLab is used by students in the process technologist programme. They can cook and process many different types of food, then analyze effects and optimization methods. This also makes the room useful for collaborations across programmes, and for other studies where food technology materials are also needed.
As a rule, there is free admission for students in the relevant programmes. Contact person is Chief Consultant Helle Thastum, who can be contacted by mail hth@ucl.dk.
These rooms are connected. One is a recording studio with professional editing equipment and has the look of an office. In the immediate extension is a recording room with good equipment and fine with space. It contains equipment (not software) such as electric guitar, bass, drum kits, speakers, etc.
These rooms are primarely used by MIT students. Usage includes web radio, jingles and podcasts. However, the equipment is so good that the potential is much greater and the possibilities many.
Contact person is Coordinator Michael Hviid Larsen, who can be contacted via mhvl@ucl.dk.

UCL wishes to strengthen a good study- and work environment. Therefore we all need a mutual set of rules, that we can help each other to respect.
The policies and rules apply to all students and course participants in UCL.
UCL wishes to create a healthy and non-smoking environment for all students and staff.
Smoking is prohibited within normal study hours. This applies to all rooms, outdoor areas and vehicles. As a courtesy to UCL neighbours, it is also prohibited to smoke on grounds, which are neighbouring to UCL properties.
Electronic cigarettes, chewing tobacco and other nicotine products are covered by the same rules as regular smoking.
Smoking may be allowed at UCL locations, when Friday bar or other student activities take place outside of normal study hours. However, students must always follow the guidelines, which have been sent out along with the announcement of the event as well as local signs, which have been put up in connection with the activity.
Upon request UCL gives information about available “Stop smoking”-courses
Every year, the students compete in Seebladsgade's nerve-wracking season tournament. Everything from egg running to wrestling in sumosuits, from inflatable basketball to human table football. Here the emphasis is on sportsmanship, costumes, team spirit and perseverance. The event is held both summer and winter and is a sure shortcut to unreserved UCL glory. But much more is happening on Seebladsgade.
Beerbox is the name of Seebladsgade's Friday bar, which is run by volunteer students. Beerbox is strategically located between UCL and Storms Pakhus in a large external building. Here beerpong tournaments are organized, Halloween and a lot of other things.
